Deer hunting? In dire need of brains.

Postby mysteriono » Sat Nov 10, 2012 8:45 pm

What should your stats be before you start hunting deer?
Need some brains for tanning liquid but I don't wish to have my character get instagibbed.
I'd do beavers but I have yet to see one anywhere near.
And is fencing a must to take down a deer?
Can deer kill you or do they stop at KO'd status?

Just stuff like this I kinda need to know.
Thanks for the help.

Find some bodies of water for beavers. March hares have a brain, too. You could do like I do and find a forest with a bear and a deer fighting. Something will lose and you can butcher it for a brain.

10-20 humours if you know how to fight them, I'd say.
You can find beavers near rivers/lakes and they're way weaker than deers, just keep in mind that if they're in a group they may all attack you if one of them performs the "dance attack".
Fencing will make it a lot easier [thrust].

Animals don't kill, just KO.

I thought bears could kill you if things go wrong.

bears can very easily KO you, but in salem animals will never outright KILL you (contrary to HnH, where they might)

Never say never....nobody thought drowning would kill you either, but apparently in the darkness drowning = permadeath.
