City claim edges

Postby Silverfish » Wed May 11, 2016 8:29 am

Does it make sense to leave one tile free on the very edge of the city claim? Is there any drain for the ppl destroying the wall if they stay on the claimed tile?

There is BB drain on a pclaim. There is no BB drain on a vclaim.

So the vclaimed tile on the outer edge is useless?

You want around 6 free tiles. You don't want a pilgrim building a wall on the edge of your base and splash damaging your walls.

This is incorrect, vclaim does cause bbile drain, but will not trigger the initial "Crime" debuff for trespassing (Said debuff is required for drain to happen)

so the free cell is not so obsolete, because wasting walls trigger the crime and then the raider is drained?

Yes, this is true. You don't need 6 free tiles so long as you keep anyone from building walls outside your base and then leaving them there for weeks at a time. One is enough to make them stand on your claim while trying to break your wall.

The crime trigger depends on the claim where you do it.
Do you Bash a wall on a vclaim and you stand on this vclaim, you will have BB drain.
If you pclaim the wall on a townclaim and someone bash them, then the Pclaim triggers the BB Drain, if you run off the Pclaim but stand still on vclaim you have no BB drain, because the Vclaim has not triggered the crime.
