Mischievous Gnome

Postby cubnake » Sat Apr 30, 2016 3:55 pm

I'm a new player. I just finished a few hours of gathering. I split some logs to make bait for a shellfish trap.
My entire inventory is replaced with a gnome. I quickly wiki mischievous gnome. Now it says that it makes you drop all of your items. Fair, but my items are just gone entirely from the game. No dropping, just deleted. Is that supposed to happen?

Likely case is when you were in the wiki, the items despawned.

I was standing in shallow water if that impacts anything.

The only other cases I can think of, are that you were in a river where once the item is dropped, it gets removed forever.
Or it was elevation where the items glitched into the ground.

This game is all about learning by doing. At such an early stage in the game, the experience gained from this misfortune (i.e. don't take an action without first understanding the consequences) is far more valuable than the items dropped.

If that really merits the death of this game for you, then you are honestly playing the wrong kind of game. Wait till you are murderd, its much worse.

Your items were dropped in the river. Like he said above, if that kills the game for you then this game is too hard for you and you will never understand how this game works or how it will test your idea of what a game is, forever. This game is deeper and more annoyingly hard than you apparently are able to handle. But, I hope you don't quit.

As the river rolled over the cliffs, my own laughing joy was drowned out by the roaring deluge of the water. The great cataract of Darwoth's Tears fell over and over endlessly.
