What happens if I try to track scent to the perpetrator for someone that is offline?
What if they log off in the middle of my tracking?
Thanks in advance.

if they log off you will lose your tracking on them. It is better to track their homestead.
Here is what I do when I start to track a scent.
First I check to see if the person is online by tracking perpetrator.
Next I take the scent and right click it on the ground. If you get the message the perpetrator is dead then you can only track the claim to get to where they are as their inheritance character is not associated to the crime but their homestead is.
Next I check to see if the perpetrator (if online and not dead) is in the stockades.
From there you have the option of stocking the criminal provided they are not online or traveling to their homestead and TBC the perpetrator.
