How to Trip Hammer

So I made an alt to assist me in making wrought iron.
I plan him just to use Trip hammer. My main will operate finery forge.
Which skills does my alt need?
Because I see that to operate Finery Forge you need Bellows Operation.

If your alt only uses the trip hammer, I think he doesn't need any special skill. Pick up the bloom from the forge and, with the bloom on the cursor (not equipped in hand), right click on the trip hammer to use it. Wait until the bloom turns to wrought iron bar.

You have the method back to front IMO.

You need to have your alt running the bellows and refilling coal. Your main should go back and forth from the refinery to the trip hammer.

I'm saying this assuming the alt you created, you plan on only using him for this. Getting the alt the skill for using a trip hammer takes much more time and inspiration etc than getting the bellows skill. Just get your alt to 20 biles and get the bellows skill.

I would shoot for 50 biles honestly and load the alt up with trail-mix. 50 biles you wont find yourself out of phlegm in 3 pumps of the bellows at 20 you can get about 3 1/2 pumps last I recall. At 50 you will notice him low when you need to pump the bellows again.

Using Bellows now cost a significant amount the phlegm... have food available...prep for it.

Otherwise you alt will KO or become negligible very quickly.

Rubbish, 20 biles is all that's needed with 1.5 litre of white tea I made 75 wrought.
In fact, I bet you could do it with 15 biles.

You need metallurgy skill to use trip hammer.
You need bellows skill to operate bellows.

The latter is significantly cheaper.

Here's my report.
I sucessfully made 25 wrought iron bars (one full Chest).
My alt was on the Finery forge (and refilling it) and my main on trip hammer (and swaping iron).
Was doing one iron bar at a time.
My alt had 25 biles and my main 85.
Used up arround 10 ore clumps (was taking it from a stockbin nearby ofcourse).
Used up probably 20-30 lumberjack frikadel for both characters.
Used up ~1.5 - 2 Iron thongs.

Game even crashed on me once, probably because two instances of Salem were running.
