Where did my new character go?

Started a new character yesterday because I have not played in so long I wanted to start over again just to get the feel for game again and he isn't in the list when I log on? Is it because I have not finished the tutorial yet?

Characters without a homestead sometimes get randomly spawned to Providence, if that happened it dies due to madness.

Characters who didn't finish the tutorial are immediately deleted as soon as they log off. You need to finish the tutorial ASAP and use a Lean-to as a Homestead (you will see a Leanto as the first thing when finishing the tutorial and you just need to right click it)
