Game lagging when running more than one client

I recently bought a new computer, and since getting it and starting using it, Salem has begun lagging when running multiple clients at once. Only when the game has to load several buildings/items at once tho' (read: primarily when in my base/providence).

Needless to say the new computer is more powerful than the old one - by quite a margin in fact. Never experienced any problems before.

Any ideas as to why this could be happening? Tried messing a bit the video options, and so far no luck.

Anything i can try out is welcome :).

It sounds like the atypical issue of Java being generally awful in every aspect. Its a bit funky, but i've found Java 7, not 8 runs better on my desktop, I assume you've got the most recent version, may want to try a previous version. I've always had to do that with Salem, and H&H.
