Loading and removing fuel

Hi all, is there any hotkey or something that I'm missing for loading fuel into things like a smelter or refinery? Loading coal one at a time is annoying for me and for some reason the game seems to slow down when I do it. When stood near other people doing it, they seem to load it quicker, judging by the sound effects. When I have the inventory open full of coal, many times right clicking the coal on a smelter for some reason opens the smelters inventory which is annoying. This could be down to a fault with my mouse?
Also, is there any way of removing fuel from a brazier so it can be moved?

Nothing youre missing, it just sucks. No problem with your mouse either. No you can't move fuel, but you can move around the dinky little braziers.

Way to troll help.
If you have a custom client like Latakai or Enders you can pick up a piece of coal then hold shift and right click on the smelter. The coal from your inventory will constantly be in your hand until you let go of shift.
Like wise you may also hold alt and shift and left click items to move all items of that kind into or out of a container. You may also remove items from containers and your inventory in mass by holding shift and ctrl left clicking will drop all like items to the ground.

Not trolling at all. That is loading one at a time moron, a coal per click.

This hints to me that he probably does not know that trick. Perhaps you are not trolling just making quick judgments.

Or maybe you're just making stupid comments, and assuming you have the correct answer. This person will ALWAYS have to load coal one at a time. So, my answer to his question is not a troll, it is empathy for the suck of loading one at a time and accurate.

@Fidgety:
One click per coal suggests you are using the +Shift trick, can you confirm this? Or must you click a coal from your inventory and then click the coal on the smelter? This would be 2 clicks per coal, in my opinion. When adding humus to a field, for example, I can hold shift and right-click the humus to the field and am limited in speed only by my rate of click and only occasionally lose this due to latency. If your connection or computer are slow, then the performance of the shift+click method can be quite frustrating.

Thanks for replies guys.
To the poster who asked me to confirm what I am doing - well, I do know the shift clicking hotkeys, on urns and chests etc. I also know how to do shift alt clicking for mass moving things and the cntrl alt for dropping things. I tend to use shift and scroll wheel for things like putting specific amounts of ore and lime in the smelter. When it comes to loading fuel in the smelter though, I have been moving them 1 at a time from the inventory, so after opening the inventory, I have been loading 1 coal with 2 clicks. It is the going back and forth with the mouse in the inventory that is annoying me and like I said, for some reason the game lags when I do this. Don't know why it does the lag here, it doesn't seem like something that should put a load on my system resources.
Sorry for not replying earlier anyway, I totally forgot I posted and got wrapped up in the game lol. I'm just going to log back in and try the shift while holding a peice of coal. This could be a nice improvement for me as going solo on the refinery with 2 characters to switch between has been off putting when my friend isn't online to help.
