So I just came back to my leanto after looking for some cranberries and there's a dead cricket on the ground nearby. How did this happen? I heard the sound of something getting hit and I'm afraid theres someone around. I am not strong enough just yet to defend myself so I want to know what I should do from here (I logged out just in case)

I dont think snake would attack crickets, never seen that. Snakes do attack rabbits and rats though. But bear can agro anything with his roar (problem is its not bear season).

Well in that case I better keep moving. This is a temporary area anyway and I am not far from the Providence town

Which is a bit ironic since snake meat restores bugs which implies that snakes eat bugs (all the others meats restore what that animal would intuitively eat) but yeah I think you're right about snakes not fighting crickets... Then again weird stuff happens sometimes when animals fight and miss each other and accidentally hit something else. But yeah probably just some guy collecting crickets.

And yeah, +1 on moving far from providence. I -think- N/NW or S/SW from providence are good directions to go, presumably straight W from providence near the darkness border will have a fair amount of folks settled.
