can it disappear while you cooking somehow? I just lost mine and have no idea where its gone ...was cooking lobster

You have to band it's claws like it says in the tooltip or it can overturn your pot and escape. The pot can decay on the ground if you don't pick it up after several minutes.

Copper pots do stay on the ground for almost 2 hours before they expire. And yes, the Lobster is quite the ferocious beast.
