Your homestead (leanto/pclaim) will be lootable by anyone, so they can always acces your inventory. Even if you have walls up and such, its just a matter of how badly the raider wants it. Very few people use the bank and are all mad after they've lost their silver. Its kinda what you want, for starters I would say its certainly a smart thing to do.

Correct me if I am wrong, but money in the bank can be also be inherited. It can also be used by any character on the account.

If someone ko's you, you can ransom your freedom from the money in your bank account
