Newbie: How can I craft the "Fish Trap"?

The Wiki says I need "Fishing", "Patchwork & Rags" and "Whittling". I have all these skills.
I can make the "Fibre Netting" but I can not find an option for "Fish Trap". I would expect it to be under Craft>Fishing Equipment, but there is no "Fish Trap". And I searched also all other menus.
Any ideas? I probably need another skill which is not mentioned in the Salemwiki...
Thanks. Chimm.

Look in your structures menu. It's something you build.

Hmm. Does the Fish Trap needs to be close to your claimed land? I see another person with Fish Traps and they are just withing the "property radius" that is shown around the claimed land.
So do have I have to have claimed land close to the Fish Trap to place it?

no, but fish traps that are not on your claimed land can be opened/taken away by any passer-by.

Strange. I can not place it anywhere in the water. The other Fish Traps are just on the line between shallow and deep water. I try to do the same, but can not make it work. It says: "You can not build there".

you need to build fish traps on dry land (ever try to build anything underwater?). Afterwards, you lift them and drop them in deep water (they only work in deep water).

It never ends. I do like your enthusiasm to come to the forums and ask for help though. I'm sure many other new players have the same questions as you and this helps them find their answers.
