Newbie Problem: Can not make Roasted Chestnut over Fireplace

Postby Chimm » Fri Feb 05, 2016 7:58 pm

I have a fireplace build(Stones, Branches) and can cook things like a "Charred Milkweed Fibre", but I can not cook things like:
- Roasted Chestnut from Stray Chestnut
- Sizzled Slug from Virginia Snail
- or grill a Raw Beaver Cut or Raw Rabbit Steak (these two I found without Butchery skill)

I can not put these things in one of the four inventory spaces of the fireplace, even if the red bar is there.

Has anyone an advice what I am making wrong. I would much appreciate, because I need to be able to cook food to advance.

Thank you
Chim

you dont need to put them in the slot, just click on the fireplace until you walk up to it, then click "craft" to make them right out of your inventory

for future reference, there is some measure of logic to these things.
Recipes that require to be put in an oven fireplace etc will have the modifier 'unburnt', 'raw', 'rested dough', or the like. Others will simply give you the result straight up from the recipe: if there is a recipe, you need to use it explicitly. If you're missing an ingredient or workstation, you'll get the respective error message.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
