Bear shortage?

Trying to refill my cart with bear before the next coldsnap and none to be found. Anyone else experiencing this or am I just having bad luck?

Bad luck I guess. Are you searching on game trails? I have best luck in coniferous biomes and on game trails.

Hmm yes checked game trails and forests near and far. Maybe just not in the cards for me atm lol.

Just had a thought for a new idea. Clay pot + honey= bear lure

It's only day 1 for EverBloom after 7 days of cold snap... give it a bit more time before you cry foul.

May be unlucky...or premature in crying foul.

Not crying foul just normally bears are very common where I am.

I am having this issue aswell. Went on a bear hunt few times this season and was looking specifically for bears, found only 2 and one of them was just outside my town, i.e. at a place frequently loaded. I explored significant size areas of 3 bear's favourite biomes and followed animal trails.

Just bad luck, and also murphy's law. If you are unable to make use of the bear, many will spawn just to piss you off. If you instead do need them, and are especially looking for them, of course none will spawn *cough* xD

More seriously it's just a case of bad RNG. Could be the area had been previously loaded by other people, or is actively being hunted. I think animals mostly spawn when you load a tile not every time you pass it again? Can't be sure though as it's been ages. Turkeys I know do often spawn even on loaded tiles since I used to get lots when I afked. Either way just keep circling around in known biomes and you'll get them. Diversify your hunting, that way you'll never be in need of prey. Bears, argos, quetzals, hares? On popham my hunting ground was between conifer and huge desert, that way I'd get a bit of everything, as well as tasty thornbush flowers.
