Worth getting back into it?

Hello pilgrims,
I've played Salem about 1 years ago for a month and really enjoyed it, only to have RL ***** draw me away ( like getting a job and not ending up sleeping in the sewers). I'd very much like to get back into it, but I could only play for an hour or two at most a day, and probably not even daily because of my dear slave driving employer.
My question to you: Is it worth it? Can I actually do anything in the game with only this much time?
I should also mention that I do not want to share my base with other people, I like discovering and doing things on my own. I could join some village as long as I can have my own personal piece of land, though I'd still prefer being a hermit.

You can absolutely play on an hour or two every couple days.

Depends on what you want to do. 1 or 2 hours is more than enough time to hop on and mess around

I work 52+ hours a week, and I play for about an hour or two in my work days and get quite a lot done.

The grind/gluttony/inspirational pt growth has all lessened in the last year so it's actually kind of fun at low hours. Also Providence is sort of safer now that raiding changes are in so it's not too bad if you're going slow growth.

It'd probably be worth setting aside a weekend if you can just to get things started and to try to get some walls up and grind out a little silver and such... But once you get a few things set up and have a little spot for yourself then yeah you can kind of configure your base and gluttony to be optimized for infrequent play.

eg, use hay and bonemeal on your fields rather than dross so they take a long time but have good yield when they do finish, make a few extra turkey coops than you would normally and only fill them 1/4 so the food lasts 4x as long and they don't starve, use drying racks for dried fish which take a long time to finish but very little time to set up and give a nice gluttony bonus in early game and as a topper, choose recipes for gluttony that have a huge full and fed up value (which means you won't be able to do gluttony again for awhile but that one gluttony session will likely be more potent) since you'll be offline anyways, etc... Just some examples showing that there are many options for leveraging the extended elapsed time between sessions.

It's also pretty fun to just be nomadic for awhile and check out abandoned bases and get a feel for the game which makes it -very- easy to play rarely since you have no periodic chores to uphold and nothing to lose from raiders.

Thanks, that actually helped a lot. Guess I'll be trying my luck again in Providence.

What they aren't saying is that Raiding is at all time low suddenly...

However, Devs are promising a come back.

So just this second and for maybe two weeks (or anytime between)...its good to be a carebear and build up; but very soon we'll [solo carebears mostly] all get wiped out and then forum drama will peak again, vets will be happy, and if you get sacrificed... well it was in a good cause.

Find a town to join... misery loves company... and perhaps you won't be among the first victims [or you will have others to share it with]?!

Maybe.

Aye the fact that we have gotten some more defenses recently added to the game can only mean that there are more offensive additions on their way.
