Hello all, quick question, how exactly is the purity of a forged weapon determined? Is there a soft cap that one can get creating the weapons and in order to get even more pure weapons you need to find whetstones?

you can sharpen a weapon with a whetstone, and it will take on the purity of the whetstone.
salem does not have softcaps.

So what determines the purity of a weapon when you make it? Is it just the bars? Is it the bars and sticks? Does the purity of iron used to make a metal axe affect the halberd it is made into? etc etc

If I remember correctly its the wrought iron bar on a halberd and the blade purity on a sword.

Ok that holds up for the sword but not the halberd. I used two wrought iron bars each at 72% purity to create the metal axe and then the halberd and got a 24% pure halberd. Soooo anyone know the secret formula to halberds? It seems like halberds take the purity of the wrought iron and then divide by three, does that mean something has a secret purity? Or is it just impossible to get a 100% pure halberd

Maybe 1.8%, but wood handles don't have any purity associated with them unless there is some sort of hidden purity that isn't stated

It is probably calculating the handle and axe as part of the purity, because they don't have any they count as 0%. So you want high purity just use a whetstone.
