Except for Sparrow eggs (after the last update).

Squirrel meat as variable.

Besides that, there still is candy, that however is very inefficient but fun.

Thank you but squirrel meat with 90% restores 5% Nuts, I need more.

But that's not so easy to make. Your best bet is squirrel meat and trying not to depend too much on the nut food group, I think.

Well, Nuts are sort of sporadic anyways. You either get them from trees, which are naturally spread out and only have so many, or get them occasionally foraging. You can get truly industrial amounts of grown food, or from hunting if you have a decent butcher in comparison.

Still, they have a place and "several dozen nuts from the woods and some trees" can be really useful for a character at a certain stage.

I haven't problems with nuts. The problem is restoration for them.
