Mac OS X El Capitan can't choose gender?

Postby RainbowKitty » Mon Jan 18, 2016 12:03 pm

Okay, so I have already gone through the many threads already created by other poor, unlucky Mac users to find no conclusive answer to my problem.

I can launch the game and click "New character" all fine, and I can also move around using WASD but when I try to right click on either of the pilgrims to choose my gender it does not work. Sometimes the person I'm trying to right-click on would say "Greetings" or something but I don't know if that is caused by getting close to the pilgrim or if it randomly happens, or if my clicking IS working and it's the game with a bug (which is highly unlikely).

I would really like some help! I have no idea what all these different clients are but I do know that I have the default one. I also do not know what colour settings I have.

Thanks for your help! :)

Make sure you have 32 bit color depth set. I don't know where you set it in OSX, but this problem has been reported on this forum many times, so you should be able to find the solution

Well, http://download.cnet.com/SwitchResX/3000-2094_4-10558576.html gave me a virus and set my default search engine in Safari and Chrome to Yahoo and launched loads of tabs of Yahoo and Ebay, and the application itself ALSO did NOT DO WHAT THE ARTICLE ON CNET TOLD ME IT WOULD.

Rage over.

I think you either clicked wrong "download" button (from an ad maybe?), or during installation you agreed, without looking, to install some additional crap.

Seems like someone has fixed the issue by installing / updating java. Which could make sense, since apparently OSX automatically sets color depth to the one requested by applications, so might be that newer java makes the OS perperly set the color depth.
