New player trying to open client

I just found this game and wanted to try to play it, but whenever I open the client Java gets stuck at "starting application" "downloading application" and never changes. Help please.
Edit: Never mind, for some reason it was stuck at almost done for quite some time, but eventually opened.

maybe it has to do with the game server being crashed right now, else did you try to update java or turn off firewalls and antivirus?

I had this problem for awhile too, updating java (manually) fixed it.

I think the launcher is not very smart in terms of its loading bar, and it simply counts files done vs. files left. But one of the last files is the resource dump, which is upwards of 50 mb by now.
