Scented items for trade?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could answer me what happens to the scent if you use up the scented items in some recipe? Like for example if someone sold me some stolen blister steel bars and I used them for a meat smoker or gates, does that remove the scent? Or can they still track my base? Thanks for all your help! It cant be tracked anymore. The item doesn't exist so it can not be tracked to you.

Some crafted items that are made with scented items can be tracked

Yes, if the scented Item is always "there". Like sloted Artifacts.
