is it worth getting a farmer's hoe? if i understand it correctly it only helps you to get upkeep from 25%to 20% right? is there another bonus like a better chance to get a higher plenty bonus when planting or something? ty

Only what you mentioned, and it only works with the plantation management skill, i think it also helps you build fields faster.
