Premature end of input error

After the update one of my systems isn't able to run Salem anymore due to a "premature end of input" error at login. I was using Java 6 upd. 30 on this system, but I've since tried 6 upd. 33 and the newest version Java 7 upd. 9. This didn't fix the error. My other system is able to run the game without a problem and it's using Java 6 upd. 30, so I doubt it's a Java related problem. Does anyone have a suggestion what I could try in order to fix this?

hi i have the same problem as the OP. looked at the link posted by the mod, but it didn't offer any insight as to how to fix it, or at least i couldn't spot it. can anyone help?
