When you cut down a tree, the log will always fall away from you. You can prevent logs falling into your fences and structures by standing in the right place. As for the tree that is already in a fence, your only option if you can't pick it up is to destroy the fence. Or just leave it there forever.

Weapons will do nothing to speed up destroying a fence. Only your humors will make destroying the fence go faster. The more you have at the time, the more damage you do, so keeping your Phlegm full will speed you up. You also have to be the claim owner to avoid soak. Soak helps keep raiders from bashing down your fence too fast, but it also stops you if you aren't the owner and only have permissions. Without soak to worry about, they owner can destroy the fence at any humor level, it just takes longer for lower humors.

Claiming the area the fence is on will make it easier to destroy. You should consider getting a claim put up anyway. Things tend to end up needing repair more often if they aren't located on a claim. Also if you don't have a claim on it... anyone can approach, claim the area and do as they please which includes, smashing your fences, your leanto, and taking whatever they want.

There's really no reason to put up a fence before you have a claim to protect it. If I were you, I'd work on getting silver for a claim rather than on building a wall. You'll only have to work harder to repair it in the future if it starts to decay from being off claim.

A nice little solution to this very small issue whould be the ability to pull a log with a rope. You would get massivly reduced movement speed and im sure something like this really wouldnt be that hard to impliment.

But you know "nice things".

Meow is totally right! You should go forging for inspirationals (especially savage charms) and gather the money for the claim. Decay is FAST! And you'll notice because your fences will turn a pinkish color. It costs WAY more to repair then it costs to build. Good luck!

Why all so worried about a Makeshift fence?? i cannot understand...it's so easy to make....i can destroy it when i'll have the claim and rebuild it if will decay..so easy to build....some branches and some fibre...and for now i have no dangerous animals in my place, remember i'm noob, one snake and i could die....

However, how does the repair feature work?? i cannot find anything on the wiki...it says, is used to repair things...but if i want to repair my fence, for example, what i have to use??? some branches, i guess???

Maybe check which wiki you use. It is in the graphic over to the left. http://salemwiki.info/index.php/Makeshift_Fence

You repair inside the Adventure tab. The graphic is a building with a patch on the broken roof.
