Timber Piles

Do timber piles continue to rot after they are done drying (when collect boards option becomes available)?

I had some piles I was leaving alone for a while and I'm finding so many moldy boards in them I wonder if it is because I did not collect them sooner. One pile had only 5 dry boards in it WTF! They are positioned 6 squares away from each other with absolutely nothing else between them.

The only thing I don't do is pave around the timber piles since everyone I asked says it doesn't help - anyone here feel differently?

Continue to rot? I dunno, but I know this...I have collected about 10 or so timber piles near abandoned claims. 90% of these were off-claim. A few of them I stared at for a month or more before collecting. I wondered about the "continue to rot" as well so I took notice. A few of these had a handful or so moldy boards leading me to the conclusion that NO the calculation for moldy boards stops at completion of the pile.

I have had a set of piles complete that were all uniform in build and ranged from 40 dry to 5 dry, so I don't consider that any aberration.

I pave a 3x3 area for the piles. I haven't found any difference in dry rate, but I do it to avoid the extra work of counting tiles every 5 days.

No, once the piles dry, the chance for rotting stops. You got unlucky.
