My planted trees no longer give me any nuts

So i planted a bunch of trees. After initial picking of the nuts, they don't seem to regenerate like normal trees. Is there anything I'm missing that I"m supposed to be doing or is that it? It seems weird that one tree only allows me to gather nuts once.

They do but the time to replenish is long. Pine nuts seems to be the longest. In my experience(admittedly limited) chestnuts are fastest. There also seems to be some large-ranged RNG involved somewhere in here that I have not been able to isolate yet. I have seen pine nut replenish within days. These are all off-claim.

I'm not sure what triggers the RNG yet. It could just be nuts picked --> new nuts, however I think it's something like chopping down a nearby tree, destroying a nearby stump, leaving nuts unpicked nearby, my mind convincing itself that it controls the universe.

If you keep planting more trees you will get higher purity nuts and that's how it's supposed to work i guess...

There should be no difference between the replenish times of different nut trees.

Are there RNGs involved? Because there is certainly a difference. I have seen people in the past mentioning decay ticks involving no progression of the tree if no one or no one new comes near. I have like trees next to each other which have new nuts on different schedules. I take it you are saying they should behave like berry bushes which I have only observed to work like clockwork all the time as far as replenishing the berries.

It seems like the thorn bushes also spawn weirdly. I sort of understand the formula for stuff spawning, does it still increase spawn rates the more you travel into and out of an area?

tree respawns are based off decay ticks to the best of my knowledge.
Hence, it makes no difference being off-claim or on-claim, being this type of tree or that, or whatever.
What could make a difference is whether or not the tile gets loaded by the server often, but even that I'm not sure off.

I have a pine tree in middle of my base from when I first settled, in order to provide branches. I picked the nuts from it around day 1 and it still has not ever come up with an option to pick nuts again. It's been about a month.
