Help with club plz

Postby RudyTheNinja » Tue Sep 29, 2015 7:48 am

Hey peeps! So here's the thing, im still a scrub and ik about the club vs fist talk but i just got my journeyman's tool-belt and I can't put the club inside although if i put the club in my hand and do an action that requires another tool it promptly switches. So whats the problem? Yup u guessed it when i try to use the club the tool belt (or game) doesn't switch to the club and gives me the error of not having a club/blunt weapon equipped so for now im jst switching manually. Is the tool-belt not meant to work with the club??

tks for your help ppl in the forums!

Correct. You can find this issue discussed elsewhere on the forums. I think it goes something like weapons are not designed to go into toolbelts but they were patched at some point to be able to be put into the toolbelt automatically. People were having an issue with something like them dropping in the water or just dropping to the ground in general if you were to have ur weapon in hand and go to chop a felled log.

So ur saying the club wasn't but now should be compatible with the tool-belt?? Mine doesn't drop it just switches with the tool within the tool-belt but when i use an atk with the club its doesn't vise-versa.

Tks for ur help!

The toolbelt can be used to soft store weapons - swords, clubs, halberds.
It's not specifically designed to do so, as you can't manually store weapons in it yourself, but only when switching to a tool when a weapon is in your hand.
Like a tool, you should be able to auto switch to the club if you use the appropriate attack command from your hotkey bar.

If you need to store the club quickly, use an action like dig that switches out to the shovel, then put the shovel away manually.
There is no such thing as too many gardening pots.

The club is in the toolbelt because that was the easiest way to fix the problem with the interaction between toolbelts and weapons. Before if you were holding a club and... tried to fish, you'd drop your club into the water and its gone forever. Now the club can be swapped into the toolbelt instead of dropped, but since the toolbelt is not intended for weapons, you cannot use the club from the toolbelt. So yeah, manually swap it back into your fighting hand as needed.
