Unable to destroy

Are Kiln's bugged? I have two kilns I have been trying to destroy and one is stuck at 38% and one at 37%.
Over 100 "swings" on each and neither have moved 1%
One is off my property totally so should be decaying naturally and one has a sliver on my property so not sure if it decaying or not but its getting ridiculous that I have spent over an hour trying to destroy 2 kilns and neither has moved a single percent.

Using a metal axe btw.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

you need a REALLY high Phlegm to destroy them, heck i have over 300 and cant destroy them, only way is asking someone trusted to come over and do it or torch them wich requieres a high level arson skill.

When destroying stuff on your claim there is no soak so you should be able to easily nuke them, if you extend pclaim over them. But you have to do that on character which is the owner of pclaim

as domestic buildings (houses,kilns,ovens,...) get damaged, their soak increases. This means that eventually you will stop doing damage (as damage done is based on your phlegm level).

So that is the reason, and the solution was posted by Heff and Procne: as a claim owner you are not affected by soak on buildings on your claim, and with arson and a bit of patience you can destroy buildings with arbitrarily high soak. Lighting buildings with arson does not leave scents if destroying the building would not have (i.e. on a claim you have permissions on or on unclaimed land arson will not leave scents).

They are both decaying, probably. It's the center pixel of the building that has to be on or off your property to count so if it's only a sliver on, it's taking decay. So, you don't have to destroy them or burn them; they will eventually poof on their own, but it will take a lot of patience as kilns have pretty high HP.

Careful, if someone finds this and reports to jc or Marp you might find your kiln walks missing

If it's considered as an exploit, why JC don't reduce soak/health points on the kiln?
What does it bring to the game to make this structure so tough?

Never had any problem with kiln myself, but i saw a bunch of threads about those indestructibles annoying structures.

Do you want a raider to be able to easily destroy all your base infrastructure in a couple hours? Or do you want the structures to be tough enough that they'll think twice about it and probably leave many of them alone? That's why they're so tough. It's also impossible to build them too close together so as to form a wall, so it shouldn't be a problem. However, if you find some bug or work around and use it to make structure walls, they will be nuked.

Ok i thought it was just the kiln that was so tough, as i saw so many post complaining about this structure.

But your point makes totally sense. ;)
