isn't farming suppose to be one of the things that reduces madness?

and even if it isn't... shouldn't it take more then 3 hours after sleeping with a teddybear to gain madness lvl 1 again :/

activities durring 3 hours:
harvesting cotton
planting cotton
fertilizing cotton
cleaning cotton
crafting Cotton cloth
placing 2 boundary stones
eating frickedels for work food

Gardening reduces insanity. Farming does not reduce insanity. If you did those activities listed for three hours or so and then did something else that doesn't reduce insanity for about an hour, you could gain a madness level. Or if you did non reducing things for a couple hours before logging off.

So yes, even with the bed reducing some insanity, you could easily gain a madness level after 3 hours of nothing but farming activities.

It does. But it's quite possible you played long enough to gain a level after waking, especially if you saw or did anything disturbing.

the char in question was not any where near darkness... unless there is any thing else that you can see that is considered "disturbing".
all my actions are listed in the first post... pretty much was just getting ready for next town bell payment and laying some new boundary stones to work on defenses more.

edit:
oh i did feed cotton seeds to turkeys also... and dropped the extra cotton seeds.

All of this don't reduce insanity!

You should read the patchnotes about Insanity/Madness Patch!

Sleeping in a Bed reduce Insanity, but it isn't enough to play 3 hours without one doing that reduce insanity if you have collect enough insanity before you were going to bed.

You have to do while you playing something of these activities:
- Study Inspirationals
- Do whittling
- Gardening (means planting Gardenpots)
- Go fishing with fishing pole
- Catching butterflies
- Collecting Flowers and pick only 'she loves me' leaves
- Collecting other flowers in the wild
- Rolling Dough
- Playing or listening music on a music instrument
- Cooking on a fireplace
- Finding gems while you sift rubble

You have so many possibilities and you have use nothing of them!
Change this and you have no problems with Madness in future!

*****!
The Day when Insanity/Madness came to us was a very exciting day.

And if you don't remember about the content, read it again!
If you know the patchnotes and where to find, why do you ask us about this and don't read the notes again?
We cannot solve your lazyness!

so exciting more then half of each of my villages quit.... o.O

i don't feel like reading the notes over and over every time i have to find what boring tasks i can do to get an invisible bar down....
sounds like ill just have to make more teddy bears and play each char 3 hours at a time. :/
