What exactly does a character inherit from a previous character that died? I read it was the claim and 30% of Humors and Proficiencies but what about if you keep money in the bank? What about the clothes on the character that died (as long as no one has looted the body)?

You can loot the inventory freely and you spawn at your last homestead, if you recover the body you can build a grave for it and put flowers in the grave periodically, that will boost your proficiencies to what they were. The bank also stays i think

Each flower used at the grave gives another proficiency, and you always get a % of the remaining difference, you can "pray" once a day.
Afaik you only inherit humors and proficiencies if you did "plan estate" or used "last will", and it will be less if you got scalped.

Also, I am not 100% sure that you can loot your ancestor without larceny, but correct me if I am wrong.

I know what larceny is. ^^
So you can not loot your ancestor, from which you inherited, without larceny?

Ok, that's good! :-)

This is also a good point to remind people, that they always need an alt with master copys (or the original) of all keys, ofc attuned to that alt!
(You may loot the keys, but they are not attuned to your heir, and therefore useless, meaning you have to bash down and replace all doors if you have no other character with a master key or master copy!)

And as we know JC does not like the use of alts, he could make it like that:
- The keys that were attuned to the deceased character are automatically re-attuned to the inheriting character.
- And as "inheriting" usually means you don't only get to own the property/estate you inherited, but also you get the keys, JC could make it so that the inheriting character always gets the keyring of his ancestor, if it is still on the corpse when inheriting. :D

It's not true. John, and the rest of us, don't like Storage Alts that can't be looted, and Botting Alts, which have never been a thing but have now been all but eliminated. We're fine with the way people use alts now.
