Clearing out an abandoned base

If someone comes across an abandoned base in the wild that has some good items left behind and that player wants to bring those items to his base, what's the most efficient way to do so?

Problems I have run into involve not being able to find the base again for a second trip, and the long transport times since the sled can only carry two items.

Look at the map and memorise, and make better sled or a cart.

craft a map survey and give it to an alt in a different account to lead you
and you need an alt to steal

Wouldn't be stealing if there is no claim stone or walls. To bring an alt I would have to walk back to my base make a survey go to Providence give it to my alt have him come to my base and then find some way to find that abandoned base again.. It would be the same problem. Can I leave breadcrumbs ?

I suppose my alt could build a lean-to near this base and hand items to my main through providence, sounds like the best way.

Couldn't carry big items like a chest or loom though

I think what they were suggesting is:
1) Create Survey of found base
2) Create alt
3) Give alt Survey
4) Profit
