Ok, just finished building my stone fence yesterday. What a chore that was!
I've been reading about adding torch posts and braziers to also increase security. What do those things do? I checked this morning and if I put a single torch post in the very middle of my fenced in area it will completely cover my entire claim with room left over.
Is 1 enough or should I add more, perhaps, 1 in each corner?


EDIT: I've been looking for the thread that goes into detail about claim security. Think it was titled something like "Secure your $*#%" or something like that. Can someone link it for me?

Basically, the more braziers/torchposts the better. They stack!
The mechanics change from time to time, though, so not all information you may find will be up-to-date.
A stone hedge+torchposts (preferably, as soon as you can: braziers) will keep out casual raiders.
Then again, eventually you'll want to build up to plank fence and even brick walls for the added defence (those suckers take ages to destroy).

Torchposts work roughly like this: whenever a crime occurs within their radius, they activate and start shooting criminals in there vicinity for black bile damage.
As soon as any bile runs out, the criminal is knocked unconscious and remains on your claim for up to 24h or until you 'deal with it'.
Just make sure to claim all parts of your wall: it's not a crime to destroy unclaimed property!

Yeah, my entire wall is inside my claim. I've extended it a square or two around the perimeter of my fence.
