Hello and thank you, i am still very new to the game. So when i was taking some items form an abandoned plot, i didn't notice my black-bile draining and i passed out and died. With in that 24 hour time i went from 3 to 9 insanity and died. here is the question

Do i need the "steal" skill to take my body off the claim? If i loot my body while on his claim, do i generate more heft counters? Thank you for any help you can provide.

You would be stealing so yes you would be committing another crime.

Would i need grave robbing to take the body off the claim?

You need Larceny(aka the steal skill). You leave scents no matter where you loot your body, unless you are using that characters heir. You will also leave a scent when you remove the body from the claim.

you don't need lacerny to take the items from a body if it's your ancestor

The "ancestor" being pretty dead (or that wouldn't be an ancestor) I'll assume you mean the character's heir ;)

That's what Nikixos was pointing out.
