How do I do this? Wiki says Face in the Dross + Fancy Lace add a slot. Does it take a slot though? Is it net 0 slots, or +1 slot after I add it?
If I had like, fifty fancy lace could I add fifty slots?

Fancy Lace adds two slots, but uses one, so you net one extra slot. Spider Egg Sack does the same thing. Face in the Dross is not for adding slots. You can only add one of any artifact to any piece of clothing, so you can add 2 extra slots with a lace and an eggs, assuming you succeed.
