Insanity and stocks

Now, I'm not planning to do anything Bad, but I was curious: aside from the gain you get from being whipped, do you passively accumulate Insanity if logged in while in the stocks?
I understand many would not elect to do so because you can't do anything with that character, of course. It would also be a way to avoid the passive gain if you do.

The stocks are death sentence unless you buy your char out or server crashes. The character cannot be placed in stocks more than once per 24h

they will do NOTHING if you wearing a plague mask, which is cost only 750s (even cheaper if got from another players)
but the real trouble is madness, which will kill you if your madness level is higher than 1
