Destroy cliffs?

So a while back I took over a long abandoned claim and have since expanded it considerably but a few issues have come to light. Primarily that that there's a little hill next to it with those climable cliffs on it.
Is there any way to destroy them or level them?

Yes, you have to level them. Either dig at the top of the cliff or add dirt at the bottom. You may have to do it with ctrl pressed - this way your character digs / throws dirt at the center of the tile, instead of between tiles
