Has fiddlehead spawning changed?

I can't seem to find any on Popham. Looked in spiderwoods, oak savanna and grassland.

They seem to spawn more frequently in autumnal forest for me.

You can find them when picking fern, they spawn under it

I think this is the main biome where they spawn. I have no problem in finding 3-4 in a few minutes.
