Hello all. Played the game for some time. Been almost a year tho since my last log in. Logged in..made a new toon went through the tutorial then logged in my old toon. walked around a bit where my old settlement used to be, its all gone now. but when i try to log out i get the message cannot log out now. Anyone know why I keep getting this. my buddy did the same thing and he just closed the window..but when i logged on i see his toon standing there..just waiting to be executed lol. Do I have to go back to Town because of the new release? Any help would be appriciated.

Setup a leanto. Must have a homestead to log out now. If you just exit you will either get killed or go insane.

My toon got bit by a snake and i died..now im in town..it still will not let me log out?

Walk out of town and build a leanto. In fact you can probably use someone else's as there are a ton outside of providence. And as for if you are on popham. RUN just RUN as far as you can and then build a leanto.

It's to prevent "Alt vaulting". If you're logged off they can take stuff from your inventory by going to your leanto. So that way even if you're logged out the stuff in your inventory isn't safe. But that means you can't log out without one. Basically items ALWAYS stay in the world now.

Yes. Pretty sure your inventory can be accessed via your leanto even when you're online? Correct me if i'm wrong. Thus you need to protect your homestead to prevent such things.

If they have the skills to commit Larceny, or lay Waste and just destroy the leanto, the answer is yes and they will leave scents. The other option for them is to claim the land your leanto is on and destroy it without issue or scents.

If you are on Providence, claim the land and build up some walls/torchposts. If you are not, I doubt you're in too much immediate danger with these issues as without Larceny they can't peek into what you've got.

No, you need to be offline to loot the leanto and if destroyed while online your inventory doesn't drop.
