Hi,
I'm new to the game, and i pretty much like it,
but there is something which i cannot understand:

How can i navigate efficiently?
There is no compass.
I cannot leave a marker on the map and see in which direction i should go to come back to it.
If i wonder 3-4 screens from my home, it takes me much time to find it again.

Maybe there is a feature that i don't know about?

Something I did early was setting the camera in Freestyle, and always keep north upwards on the screen.
After awhile when you get more attuned to the surroundings, keeping north up isnt that important.

Remember that you can zoom out your minimap aswell as the camera.

I wander from gathering item to hollow stump to gathering item so I am generally turned around all the time. The minimap is my salvation for getting back in the right direction. Also, using the map tool and saved minimaps from enders client has saved me from giving up and porting home without my loot (yesterday I ended up well southwest of Boston when I thought I was northwest of it and the map got me oriented for the trip back with my oakworths and savage charms).

Also, the BDSaleM client has map markers.

im on day 3
navigation was my biggest problem up until today when i was able to find my leanto location on the world map. it took some time for me to find where i was on the world map but once i did navigation became a cinch.

im using enders client which i like. the further you travel the more the map takes in. bottom left corner of mini map can be expanded. i walked around alot then expanded my minimap next i opened up the world map from the salem wiki. it took some time but i figured out where i was on the map and now have my coordinates of my leanto.
