Launch game, login, game closes

I have Windows 7 64, just got an email saying Salem was out of Beta and had been officially released. If that is so then why does the game crash after I login? I click make new character, game starts to load then the window close.s Help pleae

the game world doesn't even load; those icons on the screen load. Is Salem still in Beta, was the email wrong?

Java problem, or you have anti virus.
You can try download the custom client from Ender, in the Artifice forum.
See if that helps.
Also update your Java. I have window 7 64 and am playing fine.

And also see if your antivirus is doing the bad job.

It's not my anti-virus. I do have one that pops up whenever a new program wants to connect to the internet, but it i gave it permission to connect.

Nope, i ran Ender's client, it still crashes. I have the most recent java version. I checked and I have the Latest Java version already installed, so it's not java.

One quick thing: I get picking gender and changing hair color, but the guy said "go to mirror to trim beard". what mirror? i just see a ship and a bunch of package things laying on the ground.

open the gate on your left, go out, there will be a barber for hair style, a mirror for beard, a tanning tube for hair color.
then talk to the captain for name, click the ship for server.
I know it's not very easy to figure out, but hey, if you cant survive this you gonna die later on anyway

I looked all around, did not see a mirror. Maybe the ship is blocking it from my view?
