when making additional keys for people can i use more masters, or do i have to make a copy of said master key, and use the copies so multiple people can open the same gate?

How are you going to attune multiple master keys to one lock? You need to make either master copies or slave copy.

Somewhat related: when making the first Master key, you get 2 keys. Are they different keys, or the same one?

They open the same locks if that's what your asking.

When making a master key you can attune it to multiple locks or a single lock. So it is possible to make multiple master keys that all access the same lock. But I do not think you can attune a key to another person meaning having multiple keys for a single lock is not helpful.

From the wiki.

Key is the original master key. Copies may be made from it.
Master Copy of Key is a copy of the Key that acts as a master key and can be used to make additional copies.
Slave Copy of Key is a copy of the Key that only operates locks, and cannot be used to make copies.

Errm ... don't you have to attune a key to a lock in order for it to be of use? ie not just make 2 master keys that are magically attuned to a lock you might happen to have in your inventory. It's just 1 ore = 2 unattuned masters.

can you actually attune multiple master keys to a single lock? I was under the impression that 1 lock + 1 master = closed system ... you then used that master key to create master/slave copies of that particular key that are attuned to the same lock. The extra key created from the raw material is just another blank. Did I fail at locksmithing 101, or is this right?

Yah got me there you are right. One master key but multiple locks.

LOL awesome, I have often wondered how the hell someone with a half decent sized town manages their keyrings with only 8 key slots, 1 master key = multiple locks makes many sensicles :)
