Hammer & Nails' profficiency decreased

Hi!

I have a problem and I hope someone can help me.

When I was making "Sharpened Stick" and "Simple Crucifix" today my Hammer & Nail skill decreased one level almost each time I made these items. Can anyone tell me why and how I stop it from happening?
