Salem

I'm trying to figure out what most people think is a good number on your biles to efficiently hunt certain creatures.

My main concerns at the moment are Beaver (which I can already kill, but it usually takes 3-5 moves), Deer, and Bears.

What benchmarks do I have to reach to be able to kill these creatures in a timely fashion?

ATM I am at around 26 for all.

Getting a sword and fencing will help you greatly.

How is firearms? I haven't really ever heard much about them.

I made a somewhat decent thread about how to fight most mobs in Salem, and what humors to have, minus the newer ones like quetz, if you want to do some searching i'm sure you can find it.

If I remember that thread correctly it was really helpful. I can't dig it up atm but if you would be so kind to do so I will see if we can get it sticky'd to help new hunters.

Boom founded and edited it to include all monsters.

That's a very useful guide! +1 to Sticky.

Though, people still stomp snakes? In my experience that's pretty risky even from shallow water or behind other obstacles; the stomp effective range and snakes attack range seems uncomfortably tight.

Personally I use a slingshot to actively aggro the snake from a distance (don't have patience to wait for their aggro), then bullrun when the snake charges followed by various finishing moves if it's not dead yet. I've only gotten bitten once doing this when I did bullrun slightly too early. Relatively fast method too that don't rely on the terrain.

That sounds much better ill add that to the snake section, sorry i was writing that up/ editing t last night at like 1am.
