Questions on Purity grinding Seeds

Although I've read the discussion on purity grinding seeds in the farming fertiliser thread, I still have some questions on how fertilisers of a certain purity affect the seeds' purity. Let's say I till a field, prepare it with humus (does the purity of humus used to prepare a field influence anything?), plant it with 0% purity seeds and throw 5 pieces of 5% purity dross on it, does this mean I'll get 5% purity seeds, is the maximum purity of the seeds 5% or do I get (0+5x5)/6 % purity seeds?

I would say no the purity of humus used to prepare field wont matter however it does matter in gardening pots.
As for the purity output I havn't actually done the math so I am not sure if it is exact science or a scale sort of thing with random element.
It must have random element because I have seeds that are a much higher purity than the dross I used to boost them.

Alright, thank you. I'll just have to see which purity my seeds will be when I can harvest them. Good to know about the humus for preparing a field, though. However, if the purity of the humus does matter in gardening ports, wouldn't the water purity negate it or isn't that seen as a fertiliser? From what I gathered from the thread I referenced, using any 0% fertilisers negates the whole thing.

My experience is that 0% doesn't completely negate it but it really does set it back.
With pots I didn't have huge success I used some 30% humus but my results were inconsistent. Definitively did increase the purity of the peppers I was farming though.
The problem I ran into was purity grinding pots meant I literally had to compost almost all the seeds I would harvest

And as soon as I have some decent purity seeds? Can I just fertilise it with lime so I get more seeds or will that mess up the purity? I did have a talk about this with Darnokus just now, and he's never had a problem with it, but some people seem to.

Before taking advice from people, you should find out how pure their seeds actually are...if they havent reached over 80% in at least one element or crop this late in the world, they must doing something wrong.

The people I haven spoken with seemed to know what they were talking about and since I don't have experience in this kind of thing, I have no reference. I just thought I'd gather some opinions from people I know in-game, so I don't make any rookie mistakes.

I think there might have been some changes to how the purity of fertilizers affects crops recently. Running some new tests at the moment.

Maybe instead of trolling stax, offer some constructive advice from your experience.
Also at least point out which parts you think are incorrect so people don't end up with bad advice.
