Question about "alts as tools"

So I was reading Sevenless's guide on the game, since I'm new, and he opens up with a disclaimer about using your main character as a Swiss Army Knife.

Now, I have a bunch of options now, cooking, hunting, combat, farming, but would it be wise to go into these areas on different characters?

I run out of inspiration frequently (took me a while to figure out how to use it efficiently) so would having four or five characters with different "areas" fix that?

My question then is, what should each alt do?
I was thinking:
PvP alt
Hunting alt
Farming/cooking alt

I'm not entirely sure how many "trees" the skills diverge into, or if thats even how it works at all. Any suggestions on how many alts I should use and what they should specialize in would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. Is there a way to log out easier? I alt + f4 for now but thats slow.

Really it's up to you. My main crafter doesn't really have a specialization. Just there for the cooking skills and general crafting/labor. You will generally find it easier to focus characters instead of having a jack of all trades.

Some nice things to have a focus is farming, mining, hunting, carpentry, potables, w.e else you feel the need to focus.
