Clothing Difficulty

Hi,
So, I am aware that you want to match proficiency between clothing and artifact. The tooltip for the artifice proficiency includes the icon for attributed proficiency but clothing just shows difficulty with no attributed proficiency icon. How am I supposed to know what proficiency the piece of clothing falls under?
Thanks.

What?
Chances of slotting an artifice in a clothing is determined by very few factors. The difficulty of the clothing, the difficulty of the artifice and your proficiencies. If you try to slot a 0-10 artificie in a 25 clothing with 0 proficiencies your chance of success will be 100-25 (clothing difficulty) - 10 (maximum artifice difficulty) so 65%.
If you have high proficiencies in the same area as the artifice then the same formula would be 100-25-0=75%.
If your clothing is very good at 1 difficulty it will be 100-1-0=99%.
It's quite easy really.

So the method of determining the percent chance of a successful slot has changed from this?

What would a high proficiency be considered? Is it relative to your highest proficiency or relative to an upper limit?
Thanks for the response.

That was the old system, where clothes and artifact needed to ahve matched proficiencies in order to benefit from the lower difficulty result. Now clothing just has a fixed difficulty it gets crafted with (based on Thread & Needle levels of the crafter) or that it can acquire via some "caressing" with a teasel, I assume also based on the T&N level of the person doing said action.
Artifacts instead count as having a difficulty closer and closer to their lowest one the higher you get in its proficiencies, probably up to some cap. I personally concluded that 150ish in the proficiency was only ~1-2% off from best possible result.
As far as the math involved is concerned, Loftar had put up some complex mathematical probability formula somewhere when the new system was added.
Oh and it's multiplicative, no subtraction involved @ Argentis, although it doesn't vary that much. Would be 67.5% success rate in your example.

Okay, I seem to get the gist of it. Thanks again for the responses.
