Decided to give a go at farming, and followed the guide on the wiki of what to grow to get tier 3 crops.
I got tier 1 crops, soo I'm guessing I'll have to use 3 hay per field to get the appropriate amount of influence for each crop?

i use a lot of hay when influencing my fields. for tier 3 products you want one of the appropriate bars filled to 100% and the other at 95%. It takes 2000% influence to take a bar from nothing to full. I usually use around 40 hay then use humus for the rest of the bar.

3 hay?
if you want it fast, raise Influence to 1000%, that gives 50 points of the bar and you won't waste too much hay either

I just upped my influence by 1800% on 26 fields to get more rye ;p Took me 16 haystacks full + 2 tons of humus (around 100 compost bins)

Remember that is just the one time push to full bars. Afterward it is much easier to maintain.

Or you can just put in what ever you have, you will get there slowly but surely, and its much more cost efficient.

depends how much you value the time it takes you to actually tier your fields. For me the sweet point is typically two 1000% influence-harvests. Sometimes i'll go for a 2k one, but that's just too much hay to my liking, generally.
