Destroy my WHOLE fence in one go

Postby Ailaa » Mon Apr 20, 2015 5:18 am

Hey!

I just destroyed my whole fence around my base. Almost 100 tiles of fence by destroying just one segment. It was simple fence made from branches. But is it supposed to be like this? One by one it kept being destroyed. Now i am afraid to demolish stone segments, what if it will destroy all my stone walls?

That's because Makeshift has very little soak, and hp. Stone walls will not have such a big effect as makeshift do.

If you don't have a claimstone covering your walls they probably decayed to the point that each segment splashed onto the next with sufficient damage to break it and cause a chain reaction.

that happened to me a couple of times too, although the second time I had checked if I could repair some segments, unsuccesfully.
Although the destroy chain ended on doors. Doors got destroyed but not the next cornerpost.

this really only happens with the split rail fence, as it has such a low soak value that it's practically made out of tissue paper. Good for keeping animals and casual wanderers out, but will not stop a player who wants to get through.

The stone hedge and above do not suffer the same weakness. Stone hedges will splash destroy one, maybe two segments rarely, but will not cascade like the split rail can.
There is no such thing as too many gardening pots.

God damnit people!

Learn the difference between split rail and makeshift already!

Split rail can indeed stop a weaker attacker, but makeshift not so much.
