Question about Agriculture

Hello guys, I've been playing this game for a few days now and I'm already loving it.
I learned almost all the skills related to Agriculture (I can plant every crop) but now I have a question: should I have a field for every crop or like 9-10 fields with every bar filled to 100? How does it work exactly?
Thanks for your patience :D

I think most people decide in the beginning which fields are for which crops. Then they raise 2 bars needed by the chosen crop for each field. After 2 bars are used then rotation starts - chosen crop is repeatedly planted and harvested for t2 and t3 products and when the 2 bars fall low enough then they are replenished. Rinse and repeat. T1 products can be gotten from any field and during harvests aimed at increasing influence.

Example: I have made 8 fields and decided I want to grow potatoes on them. Potatoes use bars 3 and 4, so I had to raise those bars by planting cotton and pumpkins, respectivelym, fertilizing with hay and harvesting a couple of times. Since I wanted half of those fields to give blue potatoes and another half to give yellow potatoes, on 4 fields I made sure that 3rd bar is slightly higher than 4th and vice versa on another half of the fields. Once I got both bars almost maxed I started planting potatoes. Whenever bar 3 and 4 falls below 75 I plant cotton / pumpkins again to raise the bar back to 100. Then potatoes again and so on.

Thanks for the explanation! What would be the best number of fields for each crop considering the fact that I'm alone in my farm?

It depends how much, how often, and what you will eat.
It's hard to give any guidelines here.

I would suggest you start with at least 2 fields for each crop and see if it's enough for you. If you glutton regularly (that is glutton right after your full & fed debuff runs out) with the most time-efficient food (mostly 30 minutes cooldown ones) then you would probably need the double of this.

usually you want all 4 types of one crop since they are all for different biles.

cabbage as an example:
T1: colewort - BB
T2: white cabbage - Blood
T2: green cabbage - YB
T3: red cabbage - phlegm

same goes for all the other crops

Guess that's a personal preference. I only use food made from the best (t3) ingredient. So I use red cabbage food for phlegm, red potatoes food and ghost rider pumpkin food for blood, golden corn food for yb and wheat food for black bile. Of course I need some tier 2 ingredients too, like white and green cabbage for cabbage cakes, white corn oil for cornmeal flatbreads, small sugars for sugar delights etc, but I get enough of those when farming tier 3 products.

haven't found much difference in bile score using T1 to T3 in same recipe.
so no real reason for your tactic. for glutto you need different food groups anyway.

There usually is around 10-20% difference. The foodgroups I use are enough for me. They can be easily restored using garlic braids.

Nah its generally best to use the thing with the best multiplier, and thats the tier 3 stuff as he said. I like that the difference is not large enough to make the other products not worth using, but better is better.

Tier three stuff is the most desirable overall naturally. Not just in terms of multipliers on food but we all like ghost riders to study, wheat for pie doughs, sea island cloth etc right? Personally i like to have a bunch of fields with all four bars kept high and recommend it to others.
