Hi I don't know how to claim my homes general area, I want to be able to place down my items without them getting stolen .

You have to buy a Writ of homesteading for 150 silver in providence and build a claim

Putting up walls and torchposts (to start... braziers later) will help.

Nothing will stop a determined player to wreck havoc for you or your claim. Your safest option would be to join a town (at least when you feel confident enough in your skills so as not to feel like a burden).

Find me a town that doesn't need some sort of unskilled labor, and I'll show you one running on bots.

Joining a town is always possible even when completely new, but be prepared to be the slave labor for a few weeks or longer, or at least until you won't hurt the quality build up that is there or waste resources.

I didn't say that. I believe that JC has stated that anyone caught running bots could be banned from the game. I just said that anyone that doesn't need unskilled manual labor is running bots.

around a town there's always stuff needs doing for which you don't need high-end skills. Leathermaking, timber pile building, coal clamps, ... Plenty of stuff to do and so little time to do it!
