Returning player question on new crime/claim things

Before I logged out some months ago I picked up all my most valuable possessions to potentially keep them safe if I returned. (and here I am!)

So I go to log in on my main, and it says the land's claimed, do I want to drop everything to log in?
I go on an alt I had nearby my base and sure enough there's a hole in my wall and 2 small claims in my base by some loser village who was harassing me before I left months ago.

1) I think the claims are still active (?), or do I need waste to destroy them if they are empty? It does leave a trespass scent when I walked on them.
2) If I log in on my main and it drops the items on the claim will I be able to pick them up on my alt or will it stack up crime debuffs and knock me out?
3) Will my main still even have items? In the December patchnotes it says something about when your claim is destroyed you drop all items you were carrying?

If your main lost his leanto after the patch then he would have lost his items.

This sucks. Some arse destroyed my leanto with his claim and I lost all my stuff. Is there a way to get it back? Otherwise its not fair as destroyed leanto shouldn't destroy all your hard earned items, clothes and money... And I was online just last week and active...

Why do you think you deserved those items in the first place if you failed to defend your leanto?

You can get your items back. If you hunt the guy down and kill him. It's illegal though.

Yeah not much you can do mate, other than mourn and then pull it together build a better base, get some more items, then plot your revenge.

Nothing is safe now, your stuff are not destroyed just looted by the thief.
Look at the bright side, now brazier and torchpost are stronger and shoot even if your claimstone is out of money. You can take a break for months and comeback. (if you have a strong base)
Devs have added too many store items that safe places are not fair anymore.

Like, at least you didn't lost your char, you can rebuild in a week
